ABOUT DAVID:

A DESIGN LIFE

IN PARIS

“Paris is easy to love. It’s endlessly fascinating, eccentric, mysterious, hidden and inviting. There is a sheer joy that comes from being surrounded by exquisite beauty every day. The city is a constant stream of color, images and new ideas that infuse my work.”

American-born interior designer David Jimenez lives and works in the heart of Paris. From his studio in a 17th-century landmark building on Île Saint-Louis, David designs interiors for clients around the world — from Saint-Germain-des-Prés to New York’s Upper East Side.

In 2020 David opened his interior design firm, immersing himself in French style and collaborating with some of France’s finest artisans and craftsmen including Pierre Frey, Manufacture Prelle and Maison Delisle to develop new fabrics, lighting and other products. His signature design aesthetic is elegant and collected with an emphasis on creating warm, personal and comfortable spaces that reflect the French art de vivre, or celebration of everyday life.

Raised in New York City, David enjoyed a successful career in visual merchandising and store design for high-profile national brands. Through his work at Pottery Barn, RH, Williams-Sonoma and Williams-Sonoma Home he influenced the look of the American home.

David’s interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Veranda, Real Living Australia, New York Times and House Beautiful: The Home Book. He appears on television lifestyle and design segments and has earned a devoted following with his thoughtful, informative posts on Instagram.

In 2022, prestige publisher Rizzoli released Parisian By Design: Interiors by David Jimenez. Written by Diane Dorrans Saeks with a foreword by Andrew Lauren, the book is a love letter to Paris, packed with gorgeous photography, French design expertise and unique insights into how to add an effortlessly chic aesthetic to a home.

The book was included in Forbes’ ‘Best New Interior Books,’ Elle Decor’s ‘Best Books’ list, Veranda’s ‘Top 20 Design Books’ and the venerable Parisian store Gagliani’s coveted Holiday Catalog. David was also selected for the 2022 1stDibs 50, an annual list celebrating the design world’s most significant talents.

An international fusion of residential, hospitality and commercial clients call upon David for his innate ability to carefully listen, collaborate and translate their aspirations and personal style into rich, timeless designs. His ethos: If it touches you, acquire it. If it doesn’t exist, create it. If it no longer exists, re-create it in a fresh new way.
